Music, dancing, and that good ol’ Southern style – this week, it’s all about Nashville, Tennessee! 

 No trip to Nashville is complete without a visit to the Grand Ole Opry! See bands perform live, learn about famous musicians who got their start, and enjoy photo opportunities on the way in. It’s a must see! For more country music history, visit the Country Music Hall of Fame. See gorgeous performance costumes, records, guitars and more! Nashville has so much music history to enjoy.

For you outdoor lovers, I recommend taking a hike around Radnor Lake. The State Park area boasts plenty of outdoor trails and paths to explore the rolling Tennessee hills and forests. When you’ve had your exercise, head to Germantown for a delicious sausage link at  Von Elrod’s Beer Garden & Sausage House or Butchertown Hall. Delicious!

The Pinewood Social is another really cute spot to hang out! It’s a cafe, bowling alley, co-working space, and more. Remember, having an itinerary is nice, but sometimes travel can be the most fun when we explore! Just wandering around Nashville is a fun experience. Enjoy the street musicians, art galleries and shops as you wander through this Southern city, and eat all the cuisine you can!

I love this gorgeous East Coast city on the water, and I’m here to tell you why Portland, Maine is the main event!

The first thing you’ll want to do is explore Portland’s Historic District. Nicknamed “Old Port,” you’ll witness historic building facades, fishermen displaying their daily catches, and an abundance of shops and restaurants. There will be many opportunities for cruises and boat rides, too. If you’re feeling adventurous, visit the Casco Bay Islands off the coast, which are accessible by ferry year round, offering visitors beaches and island activities.

If you really want to treat yourself, you can book a Private Lighthouse Sightseeing Charter on a Vintage Lobster Boat. Pass by four different lighthouses while your Captain tells you all about Maine’s history. After your day in the sun, catch an orchestral show at the Merrill Auditorium. There’s so many fabulous cultural activities to do in Portland.

If you love theater like I do, check out who’s on the Portland Stage. There’s always a fabulous show to see! Also, you don’t want to miss the Portland Museum of Art, where you’re bound to see up and coming artists, as well as events and lectures.

Happy Birthday to the United States of America! Fellow patriots, these are the must-see spectacles for the Fourth of July and midsummer in Washington D.C.

Line up on Constitution Avenue for the National Independence Day Parade! Watch as military men and women, drum corps, fancy floats and more parade through the streets. A Capitol Fourth is a free concert on the lawn of the Capitol Building, and of course, there are many spots to get a great look at the fireworks with the backdrop of our National Monuments.
